What is the American National Union Party?
The American National Union Party is an independent political organization operating nationally in the United States. The name “National Union” is derived from the fundamental principle by which the party is constituted: an alliance which surpasses political and ideological divides in order to represent the interests of the citizenry as a whole. Similar to how a trade union represents and negotiates on behalf of a class of workers, the National Union is formed for the purpose of representing citizens’ interests, and this is concerned with correcting bad governance practices which have resulted due to systemic flaws or the influence of actors who have disregarded or outright scorned the mission of serving the public welfare which is incumbent on all elected officials. Rather than using government as a tool to accomplish some narrow agenda, the ANUP is primarily concerned with fixing the apparatus of government itself, and restoring equity, liberality and honor to public office. For this reason, the ANUP purposely offers no official opinions on many popular social issues which currently divide the country along ideological lines, as we hold that these various disagreements should be regarded as minor troubles when viewed in comparison with the great dangers to life and liberty engendered by a government that has been made the weapon of special interests and wealthy plutocrats. Special interest groups and lobbyist influence take many forms, have different aims and goals, and vary in their degree of power and influence, but all are similar in one regard: they hold the opinion that government is merely a tool for their own personal enrichment, furthering their own status, or carrying out an ideological agenda.
The ANUP, meanwhile, was not formed with the intention of representing the interests of one specific demographic or class, but to find common cause amongst the general civic body for ensuring a system of republican governance that is competent, upright, and transparent, operating in the interest of the public good.
